All of the recipes in this platter are easy to make and can be done the day before a party (if you’re organised). I love making them with my little ones as they can learn about lots of different cooking techniques like melting, mixing & freezing and they always love trying to stick the candy eyes on.
Let’s get spooooooky…

Ingredients
Spooky Spiders & Mud Monsters
125g melted milk chocolate
200g crushed chocolate wheat cereal
6-12 chocolate fingers
8 candy eyes
Boo-nana & White Chocolate Ghosts
125g melted white chocolate
6 bananas
40g crushed almonds
12 candy eyes
Mummified Stuffed Peppers

1 sheet of ready rolled puff pastry
200g cream cheese
50g grated mozzarella
8 pitted black olives (for the eyes)
Granny Smith Gnashers
2 granny smith apples (pink lady apples also work)

Spooky Spiders & Mud Monsters
These are great to make the day before the party & leave in the fridge overnight…
- Mix together your melted chocolate & crushed cereal
- Shape your creatures on a tin foil lined baking tray
- Attach the spider legs (if you’re struggling a drop of honey helps them stick)
- Add your eyes and put in the fridge for at least 4 hours
- Yum!
Boo-nana & White Chocolate Ghosts
I love these because you can get messy with your little ones when you make them & they also make the perfect snack for those dreaded teething pains…
- Dip a banana in the melted white chocolate
- Roll in the crushed almonds
- Place on a tin foil lined baking tray (that will fit in your freezer)
- Repeat for all the bananas
- Add your eyes & transfer to the freezer for at least 4 hours
- Enjoy!
Mummified Stuffed Peppers
Golden, cheesy pockets of goodness…
- Preheat your oven to 200C
- Deseed & halve your peppers
- Mix your cheese & cream cheese together to make the filling
- Fill each pepper with 1-2 tbsp of the cheese mixture
- Cut your pastry into strips (about 0.5cm in width)
- Wrap the peppers in 2 strips each to make your mummies
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 mins until golden brown
- While you’re waiting cut your olives into eye shapes
- When your mummies are done you can use a bit of extra cream cheese to attach the olive eyes onto the pastry
- Delicious!
Granny Smith Gnashers
These are so easy to make & an absolute winner with the kids (and you’re even tricking them into eating fruit – what a treat!)
- Cut your apples into slices making sure to remove any of the core from the edges
- Cover one apple slice with peanut butter
- Add your marshmallow teeth
- Smother the another slice with peanut butter & place on top of the marshmallows
- Use a bit of peanut butter to add the eyes on the top apple slice
- Rinse & repeat with as many apple slices as you want!
- Chomp away!
